log Input/output errors?
I am working my way thru my first system backup with Super Duper (backing up to a sparse image on an external FireWire drive) and getting an I/O error on the source drive. This stops the copy and when I examine the file it is in fact corrupt. I delete the file and start the Backup again.
Since I am using the Smart Update, SD works it's way down to the point in the file system where it failed and picks up copying again. Is there any way to have SD just log the error and proceed copying everything it can? Then I could check the log for problem files and delete them after the copy. Alternately, can you suggest a tool which will identify corrupted files? I have run Disk Utility repair and since it only runs the directory tree, it doesn't find any problems. |
