SD and Time Machine.
I installed SD today, (not paid for it yet though). I'm trying to come to terms with Time Machine and SD, and wondering if I need to bother with TM at all. It seems duplication to me, though I read that SD does the booting facility too.
I have a 300GB external usb Hard Drive. I have used about 35GB on my iMac (intel Leopard) If I choose to do a Time machine back up and SD back up onto this external drive, do I partition the drive first. (I would need to know how to do it!) Can I just do the TM back up, and not keep updating it continually, have this back up saved on the Mac hard drive, and then use SD to do complete back up on to the external drive. This would let me use TM if necessary. Could I then delete the TM backup say about once a month and re do it. I'm trying to write my queries in a straightforward manner so I hope someone can understand me. Thanks a lot. Cynky |
