I'd need to see the log from the run, Dan. There are a number of WD drives, so it's hard to know for sure. The easiest thing to do is to install OSX "straight" to the drive and see if that works. But, if your CD is broken you can't really do that.
If you've done a "Backup - all files", and there's a complete OSX installed on the machine, it really should show up.
