Dave: if you don't mind, a quick question. I checked my wife's hard drive and she only has 16 GB used on a 1TB hard drive....
Can I use SuperDuper! with a USB memory stick/thumb drive as the 'hard drive'? Would that work? Thanks, Rich

Sure, on an Intel Mac. Partition and format it normally (see Help > Frequently Asked Questions, top question), and you can copy to it. Make sure it's plenty large (don't get a 16GB stick).
Note that these sticks aren't typically fast to write to.

Awesome! thanks Dave. It's only for a one-time use until I get the replacement hard drive installed so speed is not really an issue.

You don't have to purchase another copy for your wife for a one time use because there is the free version, it just doesn't do a smart update which you don't need in a one off case.
