Yes, I think I did copy selected subfolders of my home directory, *not* the entire home directory. That would explain what at least the top-level hidden files are missing.
One final question: Does a finder drag & drop copy of a folder copy stuff like links in the folder too, or really only files? Thanks again for the quick help! I love the product so far. -- Terrence
