I don't think there are many scripts that people are using (I can only think of about two), so I'm not sure a totally separate download section or section of the forum would necessarily be helpful...
As far as a How To guide goes, though -- it's a huge topic, and significantly outside the scope of what I can provide. But there are a lot of books and resources on the 'net that cover shell scripting and AppleScripts! Anyone have any books in particular they're like to recommend?
