Booting from an external image disk
Hi.
I've just created an external image of my HD in a USB drive. I've tried to boot from this external image but with no chance... Does anyone succeded in this operation? Thanks in advance for your help. Regards. |

Well... have you reviwed the FAQ entry about drives that aren't booting? Is this an Intel or Power PC Mac? How is the drive partitioned? Did you write directly to the drive or to a disk image file?
What happens when you try to boot from the drive? Does it show up in the Startup Disk preference pane as a possibility?

OK. Disk image files aren't physical drives, and cannot be booted from. You need to write directly to a properly partitioned physical disk...
