Thanks Dave - the hang continued overnight so I had to first use the power button to turn off the computer. I disconnected the external drive and re-booted to see if it would start normally - it did. So, I then re-connected the external drive and re-started with the Option key held down. The computer started from the SuperDuper! backup without any problem ...
I'm now doing an Erase and Install to Snow Leopard - by the time I download all the updates I imagine I will have spent most of the day! BTW, thanks for your very prompt response Cheers Tricia |
