Email
My back up is working beautifully (Maxtor & SD), doing what I want it to do. In one of the Mac forums it said backing up emails is "optional", they were talking about computer failure. I looked through the literature and can not find anything about backing up the actual emails, the application is copied. Is the actual emails being copied, if so how do I access them, can I set something to include the emails, if so how?

All the files on your drive are copied, including your email. I'm not sure what they mean about "optional" -- an IMAP server has copies of your mail, yes, but POP typically doesn't.
Accessing them is done with the original program: you start up from the backup and open your email program.
