checking everything wastes time ??

I want to just back up my ~/Documents directory to my a disk image on my iPod. So I set up the script

ignore *
ignore .*
copy ~/Documents

but SuperDuper spends at least the first 10 minutes checking all the files corresponding to * and .* before it seems to get to the ones it needs to copy.

Is there anyway to stop this ? I think it would be quicker if I just dragged ~/Documents across.

Great application for straight out cloning!

Michael

Sorry, no -- at present, that's the way it works. We always evaluate the entire drive. (The vast majority of the time, people want to make a full copy, not just a copy of one or two folders.)
