netTunes locking up on MacBook
Hi there
I've just bought a MacBook and relegated my old PowerBook as a music server running on a wireless network. Until now I've been relying on iTunes sharing to access the music, but am curious about netTunes. First, what does netTunes offer than inbuilt sharing does not? Secondly, when I set netTunes as client on my MacBook and as a server on the PowerBook, netTunes beachballs for several minutes before finally listing the PowerBook server. But continues to beachball and I end up having to force quit. |

netTunes allows you to control the UI of the "far side" iTunes. You can do things like manipulate playlists, have it playing while you're not running locally or sleep the local machine, etc. There are quite a few advantages.
The netTunes beachball sounds like a Firewall issue. Please see the FAQ section of the netTunes forums -- the answer is there (hopefully).
