Backing Up External iTunes Hard Drive
I have my iTunes library on an external hard drive and have been using SuperDuper to clone that drive as well as to clone my MBP hard drive that has the rest of the iTunes folder (database file, art work, etc.). If my iTunes hard drive fails, would I be able to just use the backup or would the database file on the MBP not link to the music files on the backup because the path would be different? Would it be better to copy the database and other housekeeping files to the external hard drive as well--would the housekeeping files on the clone then point to the music files on the clone (in which case I could just start iTunes with the option key held down and select the library on the clone)?
