network copying
I (think I) understand that the nature of network traffic makes it impossible for SD! to create a proper backup over a network that preserves bootability, permissions, etc., except when backing up to a sparse image.
I need to move media files around to drives attached to my Mac Mini. For this, I don't care about booting or permissions. But I love the "copy newer" and "smart update" features for this purpose. Might it be possible to create a mode in SD! that will allow moving files around the network like this? My usage in this regard is just moving and backing up movie files for XBMC, a media center application. XBMC apparently cannot access sparse images. Thanks. |
