Upgrading system disk
I have a MacPro with 10.4.11 and a 250GB system drive. Everything is running great! However my system disk only has about 40GB of available space.
Using SuperDuper I copied the contents of my system disk to an external FW drive and made it a bootable drive. If I replace my current drive with a larger 500GB drive can I boot from the external drive? If so, could I then use SuperDuper to copy the cloned data from my original system disk to the new 500GB system disk? And after I did would all 500GB's be available or would copying the data to the new drive simply partitioning it the same as the old leaving the additional 250GB un-readable? I hope this makes sense. As always any help would be greatly appreciated. |
