Powerbook for HD transfer

I would like to use my Powerbook to transfer the contents of my iMac to a new HD.
I think I should use the Sparse Disk Image (to create a file called iMac backup), but when running this I get a message saying that iMac backup will be erased.
Can you assure me this will not erase/change anything o the powerbook

Hi, iMaccer -- I've already replied to your original email message (sorry it took a little while -- I was still asleep), so check your inbox/junk mail for details!
