Re-partition main hard drive then install SL

I have current backups of 10.5.8 in both SD! and Time Machine. Now, I'd like to re-partition my main hard drive to equalize the sizes of Sandbox and Macintosh HD. Currently, Sandbox is a little tight for space and Macintosh HD has too much. Then, I'd like to install Snow Leopard on the Macintosh HD and use SD! 2.6 to create the Sandbox arrangement. One fact I can't seem to find in printed Apple directions: Can I import all of my apps and settings to SL from one of the 10.5.8 clones (except incompatibles that may be "quarantined" by SL)? I can't bear the thought of re-installing Adobe CS4 Design Premium using the Adobe installation disks.

I assume the same "copy from another Mac" procedure works with Snow Leopard...
