Super Duper and FileVault

Hello, I am investigating FileVault to encrypt my home folder. Looked through the SuperDuper user guide and it mentions that if you use FV, make sure to backup from a non-FV account.

I just wanted to make sure, if you do that the result is that the backup will also be encrypted correct ? The user guide doesn't spell that out, so I just wanted to make sure.

Anyway, I've never turned on FV before, so are there any other issues with it people know of when using it with Super Duper? From a search through this forum I came up with it being slower, but not much else. I suppose it just copies everything bit by bit, so it doesn't really matter to SD itself whether something is encrypted or not, outside of the necessity to be logged into a non-FV account.

Yes, the result of the backup will also be encrypted. No real issues with SD, but of course your files will be encrypted and hidden on the backup, so you'll want to start up from it to access them.

While I don't use FileVault, I'm interested to know if SuperDuper is smart enough to be aware of the Sparse Bundle Disk Images used for FileVault in Leopard, and if it copies only the parts of the image that have changed, rather than the whole image.

Yes: it's a bundle and, as with the iPhone Library and others, we only back up the files within the package that have changed.
