Users folder finder copy vs. clone

With a newly erased external drive, for the initial backup, what is the difference between making a Finder copy of Users vs. using SD? If I use the Finder to copy Users, can I use SD Smart Update for subsequent updates?

Thank you,

David

It depends entirely on the ownership of the files, David. If they're all yours, there's little difference... but they're not likely, because /Users itself is owned by the system...
