"dev" Directory is Visible on the clone.

I have just noticed that the Unix "dev" (devices) directory is showing in the finder when I browse the SuperDuper backup clone.

I am pretty sure that it was not there after the initial backup, but has been created by a SmartUpdate run.

The clone is fully functioning, it just looked a little strange having a Unix system directory visible.

The /dev folder, on some systems, returns incorrect visible/invisible status when the drive is the startup volume. We copy what the OS returns to us faithfully, and thus the /dev folder can sometimes be visible on the destination.

I decided it was better to properly copy the data given to us by the system that it was to selectively override that information (potentially incorrectly), especially since the issue is purely visual.

It's usually hidden when you actually start up from the volume.

Yes it is hidden to finder on the Macintosh HD, and if I start up from the SD the clone dev directory is then hidden from finder.

Thanks for the information, as you say it in do way effects the functionality of the clone.
