Automatic Unmount of USB to Firewire to USB
I use VMware Fusion and SuperDuper is on a backup schedule that is automated. The problem is that I would like to take advantage of Firewire with SuperDuper but can't with Fusion (which supports USB only).
Since Fusion is a large file it is excluded from Time Machine, and I plan on using Retrospect (for Windows) to make copies of "Windows files" in like manner as Time Machine does with "Mac files". Is there a script that allows for automatically unmounting a drive or volume that is connected by Firewire then remounting it by USB then running SuperDuper to make a bootable clone, then unmounting again, and finally to remount via Firewire. Of course, this means that the computer and the external drive would be connected at all times by both USB and Firewire. |
