Best strategy for copying to new MacBook

I am about to receive a shiny new late 2008 aluminium MacBook.

Which is preferable- copy my user folder from my existing powerbook using an ethernet cable or copying from my superduper backup on another disk via USB (it might infact be USB 1)?

My instinct is the former as I am guessing ethernet would be faster than UB 1 or 2.0

After that is the best strategy to delete my existing Superduper backup and create a new backup with the fresh system and newly created user account?
