Suggested strategy to clone one MacBook Air to another?

I've got two identical new MacBook Airs - I'd like to get one set up with software, config, etc, then clone that one onto the other.

Is this as simple as?
1. Configure MBA 1
2. Use SD on MBA 1 to backup to USB external drive
3. Boot MBA 2 using Recovery mode
4. Connect USB external drive to MBA 2
5. Direct MBA 2 to reinstall from USB backup

Or am I missing some important step?
