data verification
Hello. After having trouble loading Retrospect on a new dual G5, I'm considering switching from to Super Duper for hard drive duplication. I am wondering if someone could confirm for me that Super Duper performs a similar data verification step. I work as an advertising photographer, so duplicating hard drives for archival purposes is a mission-critical task for me. Thanks,

No, we don't perform a separate verify pass: it's done by the drive controller when data is written to a hard disk. If the write fails, you're notified.
(Think about it this way: when you save a photograph in Photoshop, do you have Photoshop "verify" the data it wrote? No -- because if it had a problem writing, you'd get an error. Same thing with SuperDuper...)
