Hi,
Do I understand you correctly: you have a bootable copy of your old system on an external drive, and now you want to put this system back on the fresh partition on your Mac's internal drive? (You tried restoring the system by copying the files using Finder; this, obviously, failed) If this is the case, I'd suggest (1) booting from the external drive and (2) using SD! the same way you created the external drive *but* switching the source and target drive settings. This would copy all required files back to the Mac and make the drive bootable, don't you think? I'm pretty sure there is a section in the User Manual about restoring drives; probably better written that my scribbles, too. Best. -- Jonas Quote:
