Update on SD and Leopard Functionality?

Dave, can you share at this point any more info about SD within Leopard? Can we expect that the basic cloning and smart update functionality to bootable FW drives (for example) will be similar, or are we in for major changes using SD in the new OS?

Since it's not released yet, I can't really comment, but I'm sure that the basic cloning and smart update functionality will work just great.

Time Machine?

Hello,

I've been wondering if Time Machine in 10.5 will be making bootable clones. Or is it only for user data? The promo says it backs up your "entire system" so I wonder if that means "operating system" as well and therefore bootable clone.

I've discussed Time Machine in the "Time's Arrow" post on the Shirt Pocket Watch blog, so take a look there...

thanks!

Thanks for the link to your blog. The Time's Arrow entry is about as thorough as I can expect at this point, and helps to explain how Time Machine will work. Now that I've seen the blog, I guess there will be yet another opportunity to read and learn! P. S. Now that I've worked with and learned about SD for a few weeks, and tweaked my configuration, it works perfectly every morning to back up my HD with a bootable clone. And I've booted from it even! Thanks for the program and the top shelf support!
