Failed Ownership

The last two backups were not completed. Both backups, the Red lettering came on and stated, "Failed to Enable Ownership of SD". It should be noted that it has been backing up to an external correctly for a very long time, this is recent.

Any suggestions?

If you could, please send in your log, with the "Send to shirt pocket..." button, to me at support. I'll take a look and see if I can figure out what's up.

I'm back in business, thank you dnanian.

This was not a SD problem, it was my hardware problem but dnanian was gracious enough to help me out and I appreciate it.

solution???

Can you write up what the hardware problem was? I'm getting the same message "failed to enable ownership on iMac BU". This drive is an external USB that has a TimeMachine partition and a SD partition. Once I get the message then TM also begins to fail.

thanks

How about sending in your logs to support so I can take a look? Yours sounds like I/O errors that are causing USB-related bus failure (or a USB drive that's failing due to USB issues...)
