no it isn't. could that be the problem?
If so, what error are you getting when you try to launch? Any errors in Console?

No errors for iphoto; it just won't launch as for photoshop: a "the ap unexpectedly quit" type error & after trying again nothing at all

Console says both apps crashed

Of note, the users library was apparently NOT copied (but the main library well)
