Newbie question (not seen in FAQ)

Folks...In the past I've used SuperDuper! to make a clone of my IMac's hard drive, a nice simple operation, straight across, to make a bootable copy. And indeed it HAS saved my bacon! When my elderly internal died last month, I simply opened up the external case inserted the drive and away I went!

Now...I've got a new external and here's the question. I want to partition this 1TB drive into equal partitions. On one will reside My ITunes Library. On the other...the SuperDuper! image. The question is...if I place this partitioned drive in my IMac G5, will it boot or will that second partition interfere?

thanks! Mike Nassour

If properly partitioned (Apple Partition Map for your Power PC Mac), yes.

Disk Utility reports "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)". Will that do it?

No, that's a format, not a partition scheme. Partitioning is done at a lower level. I discuss it in various threads on the forum...
