Failed to restore spotlight state error
Hi,
Can anyone tell me what to when SuperDuper reports (in red) that it 'failed to restore Spotlight state" on the backup drive? Also, on the scheduled Copies window, there is a red line (under the normally scheduled backup) with a spinning gear on the left. |

It means you have more than one backup scheduled at the same time, Bill, and on Leopard this causes a problem in some configurations. Changing one backup to run ONE minute before the other should resolve the problem.

Thanks Dave !
I wrote my original post for someone else (who has their own copy of SD). The user DID have two backups scheduled for 9:30 so it's likely that they clicked on the Schedules button and then clicked OK. I really hope you can (in a future version) not insist on setting up a new schedule each time a user clicks the Schedule button. On a related note, I find that going into the Scheduled Copies window is the best way to see the last log. I find the that log from the Window menu is about a week old. That means that users have to cancel the new schedule window and the clearly get confused... Thanks for a great piece of software though! |
