dev folder?

On my external firewire backup drive SuperDuper! has created an empty folder named "dev" (no quotes) on root level. Might this be normal?

It's normal. This folder is hidden automatically when the drive is the boot volume but -- when copied -- is shown. It's important, though, so don't delete it!

Thank you very much. I think at one time, since it was empty, I did delete it but found it created again on next backup so I left well enough alone.
