Lightbulb SuperDuper behavior with active files

Greetings,

I'm planning on using SuperDuper to back up a file server used for storage of files being rendered on a local network. Ideally the schedule for SuperDuper would not kick off a backup until all renders are complete, but sometimes these take many hours and sometimes days to complete. My current plan is to make complete backups of each volume using SuperDuper and then run a Smart Update to each volume in the early morning hours, hopefully after rendering is complete. My question is this: how will SuperDuper treat open/incomplete/active files on the system if they are currently being modified by a user on the network? Does it copy what it can or skip over the files in question entirely? I'd just like an idea so I can plan should things go awry. In the worst case, I could back up just once a week when folks aren't working. I eagerly await your thoughts and feedback.

Thanks!

It tries to copy files, but if they're being actively *written* it can cause problems, as explained in the Troubleshooting section of the User's Guide... in general, you shouldn't back up while (large) files are being actively written.
