SD hangs while copying but doesn't freeze...

Hello! I've been trying to use Super Duper to copy my existing powermac 250 gig hard drive that is just about full to capacity to a new 500 gig drive but everytime I start the process, it gets stuck while copying each time seemingly at a different percentage through the copy - my new drive that's being copied to is connected via internal SATA controller card - the new drive is recognized fine and I can copy files and delete files from it manually with no problem, SD just won't finish its process - I've tried disconnecting every usb and firewire device I have and have let SD sit for 9 hours with no progress past it's hung point. I've searched the forums and for some reason, I can't get my powermac to restart in safe mode, I've tried the holding down shift technique and every variation with no luck... oh, and when it hangs when copying the program doesn't freeze, I can cancel the copying and everything is normal so it's not a freeze - here is my log file...
