Multiple Bootable BU copies on one ext HD

I plan to backup my Mac Pro and my wife's MacBook to an external HD that will be kept off site. Can I use SD to create separate, bootable copies of each system on this single drive? And can this be automated?

Thanks for the help,

You can certainly partition the drive into two volumes, yes, and back up each Mac onto its own partition, and have both be bootable. But you have to bring the drive to each Mac for both to be bootable.

Note, too, that since you're talking about two different people, you'd also need two licenses for SuperDuper.
