Making Space
I backed up my Mac HD onto an external usb hard drive and I was wondering if it was possible to clear up space on my Mac HD by deleting some stuff. If I do that how will it affect my backup? Will it just take those things off of the usb drive to match the Mac HD? Thanks in advance!

If you do that, the next time you run your backup those files will likely be deleted from the backup. if you want to archive files, you should create an archive partition and move them there. Do not store them in the backup.

Which HD do I make the archive partition on. The Mac hd or my external hd? (my guess is the external right? cause what sense would it make to save space on the Mac hd with a partiton taking up part of it. right? Thanks

Yes, the external.
