Clone to new HD

I've installed a new hard drive to my Macbook Pro 17" and didn't have a enclosure to put the drive in and clone it but I do have it on another USB drive cloned and was wondering how I could get it to that drive with the least amount of trouble. When I started it I wasn't given the option to use the drive although it was connected and the computer could see it. It actually booted to the SuperDuper clone. Any help would be welcome.
