Restore, leave users untouched (and the reverse)?

I recently bought SuperDuper 2.5 for use on my MacBook. Anyway, I am currently using an external hard drive to serve as a bootable clone of my internal hard drive.

Anyway, sometimes I would like to restore my internal hard drive from the external drive, but leave Users untouched (i.e. keep what's currently in Users, but revert everything else to the way it was). I want to do this so that I can test beta software and revert back to release software without touching my data.

Is this possible? If so, how? I know I could use a Sandbox to achieve the same effect, but operating off a Sandbox is somewhat annoying (the aliases screw some apps up). Also, can one do the reverse (back up only /Users, but leave the rest of the destination volume untouched)?

This isn't something we can do, thully: the Sandbox is what we offer to accomplish your task.
