Network backups
Have a home network consisting of an iMac G5 and Powerbook. Just bought LaCie 250GB external drive and SuperDuper, and am successfully backing up entire G5 daily using SmartUpdate. Powerbook has my business accounting files. I could back them up using my .Mac account. However, was wondering what my options are using SuperDuper and the external drive?

You can create a partition on the drive for your powerbook, and back things up there with SuperDuper!. Or, if you're trying to back up over the network, you'd want to create a partition and then store a sparse image on it, as explained in this FAQ:

From what location?
Yes, that is very helpful. If I do the backup via network per the instructions, can I perform the backups on the Powerbook from the G5 over the network? Or do I have to be on the Powerbook to back it up?

You have to be on the PowerBook: you can only "push" backups due to restrictions on file access over the network.
