Drive can't/won't eject
I have a WD 1TB drive with three partitions, one of which is where SD backs up to.
I can't eject the drive, it says it is in use. Even if I restart the imac. So, the system thinks I am using something in the back up files. Suggestions / Comments / further information.... Thanks |

Are you using an AntiVirus program?

Nope.
- there are 4 users - iphotos and music are on one partitiion of the drive - movies are on the second and back ups are on the third partition. I see the backups are running. I can send a log if you'd like. |

I don't think a log is going to tell us anything: we're no longer running when you csn't eject.
Do you have any problemd running programs if you shut down, eject/unplug the drive & then run without it attached?

.... thanks for the quick reply, appreciate it.
I will dismount (or attempt to) today. Failing that - I will shut the machine down and start up as you suggested. I will let you know the results later today, just wanted to touch base. chrisj |
