Bootable Back-ups
I'm posting this as it may assist the SD developers-previously posted on another support forum - I now realise SD not ready for Leopard yet.
Installed 10.5 on both my Macs. Using SuperDuper I have backed up both my iMac & PowerBook to separate LaCie FireWire drives with GUID Partition Table in one case and Apple Partition Map in the other expecting to get bootable drives as in the past with 10.4 However, in both cases the drives won't boot. The Grey screen with the Apple Logo and spinning wheel appear but nothing further. I've tried setting the drives as the start-up drive and using the "Option" key option. Using Disk Utility both drives show as OK when verified but when I go to "Repair Disk Permissions" it stops with the following dialogue. "Disk Utility stopped repairing permissions on “Leopard 1” because the following error was encountered: The underlying task reported failure on exit." Any ideas/help please. |
