need for netTunes?
I have not bothered to download and try because I'm aways from actually being in the position to benefit. I'm just wondering out loud, so to speak.
If sharing the library is turned on on the "main" Mac why need netTunes? |

Because the point of netTunes is to allow control of a Mac that's connected to an audio system -- not to "stream" it to other Macs...
Plus, if you're using library sharing, you have no way of creating/maintaining playlists -- which you can do with netTunes. Hope that makes sense.

I can see the advantage of the playlists. That alone meets my needs.
But I already use Airfoil so getting the sound to the stereo is done. Still, damn good feature. |

The other nice thing is that, since your current Mac isn't actually providing the audio feed, if you put it to sleep, music continues...
