So how do I leave the volume in the "ejected state?"
Perhaps the difference between you and I is that I don't leave my Mac running 24/7; I turn it off every evening. When I start it up in the morning my two connected external drives (using Firewire 800) mount all the partitions. I don't know of a way to exclude a single partition from mounting... My apologies if I am coming across as being a bit "dense" but I'm just trying to figure out to accomplish what you describe. I suppose that I could just leave the one drive turned off and only turn it on when I do a manual backup using SD!. |
