Restoring A Hard Drive, Based on Sparse Image
Background: Sparse Image R&W is on External HD. Apple wiped the HD when trying to figure out a bug. My mac is now returned to me. I want to restore the computer to the way it was AKA make the mac (15" MBP Feb08 Revision) to be the same info as it was before, what I backed up to the sparseimage file.
So, I tried booting from the Mac OS X install disc, and that wouldn't let me pick the Sparseimage to restore from. And of course I can't drag Macintosh HD to destination when I try and run Disk Image when booted up on my MacBook Pro's HD. Right now I'm copying the R&W sparse image to a Read Only sparse image, thinking that might help. I doubt that, though. I feel like I'm a moron, that I'm missing something completely obvious. HELP!?!? Thank you. |
