SFTP backup and image mounting problems

Hi, I've just started using SD! and after a bit of effort I managed to get a backup to work over ethernet to my server. I have a couple of problems though.

1. When SD! tries to mount my sparseimage, it takes many minutes and seems to be re-making the image even though it's set to smart update. If I interrupt the backup before the image mounts, the image ends up really small (usually 11 or 22MB). So somehow the smart update is erasing the entire image.

2. I'm trying to connect to my backup image using SFTP rather than SMB. This is because I usually can't connect using SMB over my WIFI network. I would also like to be able to backup away from home (regardless of how long it takes). Mounting the image fails every time, however. Right now I'm getting this error:

| 04:38:16 PM | Info | ...ACTION: Mounting Weekly Backup
| 04:38:16 PM | Info | ......COMMAND => Preparing Weekly Backup
| 04:38:17 PM | Info | hdiutil: create failed - File exists
| 04:38:17 PM | Error | ****FAILED****: result=256 errno=22 (Unknown error: 0)

But I have gotten others in the past.

I'm running the latest version of SD! and Leopard. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I'd really need to see the whole log. Perhaps you could send it in using the "Send to shirt pocket" button. But, no -- I wouldn't use SFTP over a WAN -- that's just not going to work well.

Ok, I just sent you the log. I guess my main problem is that the image goes from its original size (35GB after a backup) to 0KB when I start a new backup. Is this normal behavior? Shouldn't the smart update leave the old image pretty much intact? Thanks

Yes, mounting and smart update should just open the image. But perhaps it's damaged and being recovered.
