repair permissions?
SuperDuper (I'm now using 3.2.4 v118.e) looks like it is supposed to offer the option to repair permissions before copy. At least there is a "Before copy" in "Options" check box that I think I'm supposed to be able to check to do so. Now, I know permission repair is no big deal, but I'm surprised that this box is dimmed and not enabled. No way to check the box off! Just out of curiosity, under what circumstances am I allowed to command SuperDuper to repair permissions?

The OS version you're running doesn't support permission repair, and as such it's not available in SuperDuper.

Thanks. I'm using 10.11.6. You mean only newer OS's can use it, or only older ones?

Only older ones. You'll note it's no longer in Disk Utility as well.
(Sorry for the delayed responses - the new message mail keeps going to my Junk mail...and they're from me!)

Roger that. If the OS doesn't want you to do it, SuperDuper probably should not encourage you to do it.

Not only "doesn't want you to do it" - you *can't* do it.
