help merging multiple partitions...please

A while back I set up one of my G5s with multiple partitions, which turns out not to be a great idea with osx.

how can I best use superduper to merge them.

My backups are on network drives

if I
  1. back up each of the partitions
  2. erase the drive and make it 1 partition
  3. boot up by CD and use disk utility to copy the back up image to the newly emptied HD
  4. mount the other backup images
  5. then drag and drop the other backups into folders

does that work?

what will I lose?

Is there a better way?

You can try (and you'll still have the backups, of course, if something goes wrong)...

Wow...I was so anxiously waiting to get a response, but this caught me off guard.

I am trying to avoid having to reenter passwords for all of my apps, but they are not on my system partition...do you have any advice as to best practices for this type of procedure?

Your apps were installed on a different partition? I can't guarantee this is all going to go back together smoothly... But, as I said, you can try.
