Mounting before and unmounting after a backup?

Is there a way to mount a backup drive before backing up to it, and unmounting it when the backup is done?

There is, "trauring". If you search around the forums a bit, you'll find quite a number of solutions.

Um, what's with my name in quotes?

Let me rephrase my question as is there a way to do this without resorting to applescript?

I tend to put people's names in quotes when I don't know what their real name is. Since your message wasn't signed, I didn't know what to call you, so... "trauring". No offense intended!

There isn't a way to do it without using AppleScript. We do mount and unmount images, but not volumes.
