Will 2.1.4 (v82) work in Leopard?

Hi Gang

I use Super Duper 2.1.4 (v82) in a G5 Single 1.8 that has Tiger 10.4.11 installed.

My other machine is a Dual 1.8 with Leopard installed.

Can I install Super Duper 2.1.4 (v82) in the G5 with Leopard?
(just copy my registered/licensed install file and re-install it in the other machine)

If we're ok (so far), my last question is; As I multi-task with the two G5's, is it possible to use Super Duper to clone a few external drives with the G5 that has Leopard, and then read the contents properly (without glitches or mis-matched data), with the G5 that has Tiger installed in it?

Thanx
Mike

You can, as long as both are your primary Macs.

Don't try to copy a Leopard disc with Tiger, but you should be able to read from it, yes.

Dave Thanx - A clarification

Hi Dave

Thanx for the reply

Let me try to understand you?

You say;
"Don't try to copy a Leopard disc with Tiger" that threw me a bit.

Allow me to explain what I'm doing now;
I have tons of video media on 5 external Lacie's. I also have #4 1TB OWC external drives that I use for back up of all that data from the #5 Lacie's. I use Final Cut and Super Duper within a Tiger environment. I'd like to multi-task and load Super Duper in the other G5, (that has Leopard), and continue with back up's, cloning (using Super Duper Smart Update), to update from the Lacie's to the OWC 1TB drives. *They're all external drives.

Always going from the external Lacie's to the external OWC 1TB drives.

Is this possible? Will this work? Or is there a possiblity that the updated data may confuse the G5 with Tiger? Especially in the event of a crash when I'd have to rely on the back up drives to reconnect all that media.

Thanx
Mike

That's copying a Tiger disk with Leopard, and should be fine.

"That's copying a Tiger disk with Leopard"

Do you mean it's not advisable trying to copy a Tiger internal "system drive" with Super Duper in a Leopard environment?

What about copying the 2nd internal Tiger drive (not a system drive), which is where I have the Final Cut scratch files?

Can I copy that 2nd internal Tiger drive with Super Duper in a Leopard environment?

Thanx
Mike

No. I'm saying that you shouldn't copy a Leopard disk with Tiger, not a Tiger disk with Leopard.
