Operation Not Permitted

Trying to do a backup of my iMac (10.5.2) and 17 minutes into it I get this error.

| 06:25:35 PM | Error | SDCopy: Failed to copy ACLs to /Volumes/iMac/Applications/Windows Media Player/Windows Media Player.app/Contents/Resources/Spanish.lproj/HelpPages/htm/changingsize.htm\n: Operation not permitted

Now, i've had some trouble in the past deleting or moving things on the hard drive and had never been able to figure out why. It only happened sometimes with certain things. I have a feeling whatever is/has been preventing that is also what is stopping me from using SuperDuper.

There's only one account on this iMac, it's mine, and i'm the administrator so it makes no sense to me. Am I missing something?

Are you running an AntiVirus program, Mark?

Nope. But I actually just realized I had Deja Vu enabled, that other backup app. Do you think that would have been it?

EDIT: Disabled it and tried again. Still no go.

No, that shouldn't matter.

Please send your entire log -- using the "Send to shirt pocket" button -- to me at support. Thanks.

There was an error trying to send it for some reason. I'll just paste it here.

Well... I was hoping to get the additional information, but... is there a reason you're using Copy Newer?

No reason in particular, no. I assumed it would copy all the files the backup drive didn't have already, and since the backup drive is empty I figured it would copy everything. Would you suggest I erase and copy instead?

No, I suggest using "Smart Update" instead: that way you'll maintain a bootable backup...

Please send me the logs, Mark, using "Send to shirt pocket" and we'll continue this that way. Along with that, a system profiler report (in native "XML" format, zipped) would help. Thanks.

I keep getting "Unable to send support request".. And when I choose to send it using an email application, there's nothing attached so i'd just be copying the same thing I pasted above. Or am I missing something here?

Either way, I sent the system profiler report to feedback@ ....

Thanks. I've replied up there. When we've figured it out (it looks like a corrupt volume on a USB drive) you can post a summary here, if you'd like.

Summary: Always make sure you have the latest version of SuperDuper installed.
