"Could not disable ignore permissions" and solution
Hey, Dave!
Just wondering... After applying the Terminal command: sudo rm /var/db/volinfo.database to resolve the Tiger bug involving permissions enabling, would one need to re-apply after zapping PRAM or pressing the CUDA button on the motherboard of a given Mac if it's acting all wonky? I ask as a few backups have frozen half-way through recently. Frankly, I don't think SD is at fault. Alas, my QuickSilver is starting to flake out... but haveth ye no fear... I haveth ordereth a new G5! Nevertheless, I thought I’d check with you. Thanks, as always, for the best backup software for the Mac. You da Man! Oh... I haven't forgotten about sending you a CD. I just found where I wrote down your address, so I’ll be sending it out this week. Darin the singing geek |

Hi, Darin. No, that command is very, very limited in scope, and couldn't possibly account for any flakiness. If things are freezing - like the whole computer? - it's more likely a hardware issue. Can you be a bit more descriptive about what you're seeing?
