SparseImage grows for no understood reason ...
Hi,
Last night before going to sleep I started the duplication of my iMacG5 to a sparse image located on my iMacIntel. This morning the duplication was not completed and the sparse image had grown to 145GB while the source is only 22GB. I must also say that before launching the duplication yesteraday the sparse image was compressed the it's minimum size using this script: do shell script "hdiutil compact " & quoted form of filesPath What could have been wrong ? Thanks in advance. Robert Lespérance P.S. While the compression is running how can I monitor by script if the sparse image file is still busy being compressed ? |

Perhaps you left a program running that had a very-active live file?

No running program ... and in any case the source only had 22GB, how could an heavy active file bring the SI to 145GB ?
After compressing the SI, does SD need to copy the 22GB source image again or only the modified part of the file ? |

Well... something was clearly active. Drop me a support note and I'll provide you with a command that will help diagnose this next time it happens.
